About Luca

Luca Weber is a fun-loving and cheerful young man. He enjoys playing piano, going for a sail in Middle Harbour,  or going for walks along the coastline. He also loves to cuddle with the family cat Shiva and listen to music.

After graduating from college in 2020 he and his family wanted to put his knowledge and love of Braille to good use by creating a business that would specialize in providing Braille services. And so "Braille by Luca" was born.

Luca has been blind from early childhood and had a few stumbling blocks thrown in his way during his life. He started learning Braille from his early primary years and was instantly fascinated by how it opened up a brand new world for him. This experience has been the motivation behind sharing Braille with all people, not just the vision impaired.

To see Luca shine in his own microenterprise has been incredibly fulfilling for all involved.

You can hear about his story on SBS here.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your cards only for Braille readers?

Absolutely not. In fact, many of our customers do not know Braille at all. Every card is supplied with a bookmark which has the Braille code on it, so everyone can decode their message. This is part of the fun and makes Luca's cards so unique and popular.

Do you make the cards yourself?

Yes, we do! Every single card is individually crafted and therefore no 2 cards will ever be the same. We paint, cut, stitch and braille every card individually and always include tactile features. Our cards are truly one of a kind.

Why are your cards tactile?

Offering tactile cards is part of being accessible. Our goal is to create cards that are interesting for vision impaired people and equally fun and beautiful for everyone.

How much is postage?

Postage is free! You just tell us where to send the card(s) to.

I lost my bookmark, can I get another one?

Oh no! Don't worry, you can find a copy here.
